      As part of our commitment to providing education and fellowship in our community, presentations at the Brooks are open to the public and free of charge. Otherwise, events listed below are for active members only and may be limited to certain membership levels.

        Legendary editor, designer, and creative force Marian McEvoy joins us for an inspiring evening of style, storytelling, and design. Reception and gallery walk co-hosted by ArtsMemphis. We will be announcing a special collaboration between DAT and ArtsMemphis -- you won't want to miss!


         From the glittering runways of Paris to the pages of iconic interiors magazines, McEvoy’s career spans decades of fashion, décor, and decorative arts.

         

        Join your art museum and the Decorative Arts Trust for an exclusive conversation with Marian McEvoy—a true icon in the worlds of fashion and design. Known for her sharp eye and boundless creativity, McEvoy shaped style as a fashion editor at Women’s Wear Daily and W in Paris before returning stateside to helm Elle Décor and House Beautiful as editor-in-chief.

         

        Now in her second act as a celebrated decorative artisan and textile designer, McEvoy is the force behind two new fabric collections with Schumacher and Kerry Joyce. This special evening features a one-on-one Q&A covering everything from the heady days of Paris fashion in the '70s and '80s, to the evolution of design publishing, entertaining with flair, and the process behind creating textiles and products.
